Benjamin Barrone is a longtime Illinois CPA who currently works with a manufacturing and distributing company as an accounting and acquisition consultant. His aim is to strengthen accounting estimates and policies in ways that ensure the company will withstand high-level audit scrutiny if put up for sale. Additionally, Benjamin Barrone has conducted extensive internal audits of internal controls to assess design, effectiveness, and identify areas of improvement for profitability. Based on his prior experience and expertise in this capacity his initiatives are being implemented to ensure the company is in prime condition to go to market.
Prior to taking his current role, Mr. Barrone served as Regional Controller with Levy Restaurants and oversaw forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions spanning operating locations across the United States and Canada. He also played an integral role in the development of the corporate-level budget, encompassing hundreds of operating locations and representing more than $1 billion in total annual revenue.
Mr. Barrone began his career with Plante Moran in Chicago as an auditor where he specialized in complex, large-scale audits of private equity acquisition targets, other private equity portfolio companies, and large owner-managed businesses. In addition to conducting traditional audits, Benjamin Barrone also gained tax experience through working on the individual tax returns for large net worth individuals and preparing the tax provision for his taxable corporate clients. He also began his consulting work at Plante Moran, engaged to improve the inventory management of a highly-profitable manufacturing client undergoing significant growth and expansion.
